Today, I will guide you again about the part-time job of an international student, which still has a lot of questions.
Before you start your part-time job, please know that you must first get a 'permission for activities outside of your status of residence' from the immigration office.
1. permitted working hours
- Undergraduate 1st and 2nd graders: 10 hours basic. However, 30 hours on weekdays for TOPIK level 3 or higher, and no restrictions on weekends and vacations.
- Undergraduate grades 3 to 4: 10 hours basic, but 30 hours on weekdays for TOPIK level 4 or higher, and no restrictions on weekends and vacations.
- Over-semester student: No part-time employment
- Graduate students: 15 hours basic, but 35 hours on weekdays for TOPIK level 4 or higher, and no restrictions on weekends and vacations.
- Graduate course completion: 30 hours for TOPIK level 4 or higher and 15 hours for non-instruction.
2. an acceptable field
- Only activities such as simple labor normally performed by students are permitted
- a restaurant assistant
- Tourism guidance assistance, duty-free shop sales assistance, etc
3. a restricted field
- the construction and manufacturing industries
- private tutoring
- Advanced businesses and research institutes
- facilities related to foreign language education for minors
- a delivery agency
4. Permission Period and Restrictions
- Activities within 1 year of stay
- Limited to 2 locations
5. required documents
Application, passport, alien registration card, part-time employment certificate, copy of business registration certificate, standard labor contract, TOPIK certificate (Korean proficiency), latest academic record certificate

- If your distance of home(or university) to company is under 90 minutes

- 미성년 대상 외국어 교육 유관 시설
- 배달 대행 업체
4. 허가 기간 및 제한
- 체류 기간 내에서 1년 이내 활동 가능
- 장소는 2곳으로 한정
5. 필요 서류
신청서, 여권, 외국인등록증, 시간제취업확인서, 사업자등록증 사본, 표준근로계약서, TOPIK 증명서(한국어능력), 최근이수학기 성적증명서
6. 회사에 사전에 말하면 좋은 요소들
- 현재 대학/학년/TOPIK 등급
- 현재 알바 중인 다른 곳이 있는지, 몇시간을 일하는지
- 비자 종류 및 만료일
- 직전학기 학교 성적이 C가 넘는지
- 기타 범죄 이력 조회
- 집/학교에서 회사까지의 거리가 90분 이내인지
