Part time jobs are usually for people who has D2 visa or D4 visa. However, there are limits. Because these visa requires studying, they do not accept professional jobs. They only accept part time jobs. For example, you cannot work as an exertised transaltor, marketer abroad or so on.

Now I will talk about criteria and how long one can work, and what you need to have when applying for the job.

아르바이트는 일반적으로 D2 비자 또는 D4 비자를 가진 사람들을 위한 것입니다. 그러나 제한이 있습니다. 이 비자는 공부를 요구하기 때문에 전문적인 직업을 수락하지 않습니다. 아르바이트만 수락합니다. 예를 들어 전문 번역가나 해외 마케터로 일할 수 없습니다.

I. If you are D4 visa holder(D4-1 ~ D4-7)

What you need first is that you need to stay as D4 visa holder for more than 6 months. Second, you should have attended the school almost fully, more than 90% of days during the previous semester.

If you have two things all fit, you have 2 options, depending on your Korean language skill level. If you are over 2 level of TOPIK or KIIP, you can work 20 hours a week. if not, only 10 hours are allowed.

첫 번째로 필요한 것은 D4 비자 소지자로 6개월 이상 머물러 있어야 합니다. 두 번째로, 이전 학기 동안 거의 완벽하게 학교에 출석했어야 합니다. 이전 학기 동안 90% 이상을 출석해야 합니다.

II. If you are D2 visa holder(D2-1 ~ D2-4 , D2-6 ~ D2-8)

If you have D2 visa, it is different. You need to have your score average of grade C(2.00) or higher. If you are in your first semester, you don't need to think about that.

Also, requried Korean language skill is different from D4. If you are on associate's degree or first to second grade in bachlor's degree, you need to have lvl3 or higher in TOPIK or KIIP. If you are third or fourth grade or in master/doctor's degree, you need to have lvl4 or higher in TOPIK or KIIP.

Oh, if you have D2, you don't need to wait for 6months as D4 visa holder. You can work right away if you can fit the criteria.

D2 비자를 소지하고 있다면, 조건이 다릅니다. 성적 평균이 C(2.00) 이상이어야 합니다. 첫 학기를 수강 중이라면 이 부분을 고려할 필요가 없습니다.

또한, 요구되는 한국어 능력은 D4와 다릅니다. 전문학사 학위 과정 중에 있거나 학사 1학년부터 2학년까지이면 TOPIK 또는 KIIP의 레벨이 3 이상이어야 합니다. 3학년부터 4학년 또는 석사/박사과정에 있는 경우 TOPIK 또는 KIIP의 레벨이 4 이상이어야 합니다.

아, D2 비자를 소지하고 있다면 D4 비자 소지자처럼 6개월을 기다릴 필요가 없습니다. 조건을 충족시킨다면 바로 일할 수 있습니다.

III. After you have got your part time job, you need to.... (get Permit to Engage in Activities Not Covered by the Status of Sojourn)

After you fit all criteria and find a company to work for, you need to get ready for some documents.

You need to have your passport, alien registration card, integrated application form, transcript(D2) or certificate of attendance(D4), and proof of Korean language proficiency. You also need to ask school and get confirmation of part-time employment for international students.

Also, company needs to get ready for documents too. Company needs to have A copy of business registration certificate, a copy of the standard employment contract, confirmation of compliance with international student part-time employment requirements, and copy of employer identification card.

조건을 맞추고 일할 회사를 찾은 후에는 몇 가지 서류를 준비해야 합니다.

여권, 외국인 등록증, 통합 신청서, 성적증명서(D2) 또는 출석증명서(D4), 그리고 한국어 능력 증명서가 필요합니다. 또한, 국제학생을 위한 아르바이트 확인을 학교에 요청하여 확인서를 받아야 합니다.

또한, 회사도 서류를 준비해야 합니다. 회사는 사업 등록증 사본, 표준 근로계약서 사본, 국제 학생 아르바이트 요건 준수 확인서, 그리고 고용주 신분증 사본을 준비해야 합니다.

If you do not get allowed before you start working, you will get penalties. Usually, you can get limited of getting D10 or E7 visa. If you have worked in infrastructure or in factories, you need to go back to your country.
