The Ministry of Justice has decided to support foreigners living in forest fire-affected areas designated as special disaster areas.

1. Overview
- Various complaints of residence, nationality permit application fees, etc. of foreigners, such as seasonal workers residing in special disaster areas, are exempted until April 30
- Permission for non-residential activities, permission to change the place of work, permission to change the status of stay, permission to extend the period of stay, permission to naturalize under the Nationality Act, permission to restore nationality, nationality (re)acquisition report, and nationality retention report are subject to the Immigration Control Act.
2. Contents
- Minimize damage to foreigners, such as exempting fines, even if the period of stay cannot be extended within the set period due to forest fire damage
- In addition to applying for an extension of the period of stay, even if various violations of the obligation to permit and report occur, fines or fines are exempted until this April
- For foreign seasonal workers who have difficulty continuing employment due to forest fire damage, the government plans to allow other farms to change their places of work first so that they can continue to work
- When agricultural work resumes in the future, visas will be issued quickly for smooth employment
3. Other
- As of March 28 (Friday), the government plans to apply areas that are additionally declared as special disaster zones during the implementation period in addition to the eight regions

- 특별재난지역에 거주하는 계절근로자 등 외국인의 각종 체류민원, 국적허가 신청 수수료 등을 4. 30.까지 면제
- 출입국관리법에 따른 체류자격외활동허가, 근무처변경허가, 체류자격부여, 체류자격변경허가, 체류기간 연장허가, 국적법에 따른 귀화허가, 국적회복허가, 국적(재)취득신고, 국적보유신고가 대상이 됨.
2. 내용
- 산불 피해로 정해진 기간 내에 체류기간을 연장하지 못하더라도 범칙금을 면제하는 등 외국인의 피해를 최소화
- 체류기간 연장신청 이외에 각종 허가·신고 의무 위반사항이 발생하더라도 이번 4월까지는 범칙금 또는 과태료가 면제
- 산불 피해로 지속적인 취업이 어려운 외국인 계절근로자에 대해서는 다른 농가에 우선 근무처변경을 허가하여 계속 취업할 수 있도록 할 방침
- 향후 농작업 재개 시 원활한 고용을 위해 신속히 비자를 발급할 예정

- '25. 3. 28.(금) 현재 8개 지역 이외에 시행기간 중 특별재난지역으로 추가 선포되는 지역도 적용할 계획
