1. Basic concepts and expiration dates of D-10-1 visas


A D-10-1 visa is called a job search or intern visa, and allows qualified foreigners to prepare for employment or do internship activities in Korea.

- D-2 (study) visa: up to 2 years stay

- D-4 (Language Training) Visa: You can stay up to 1 year

- Is issued every six months and requires periodic extension


2. Regulations related to internship activities


- Up to 1 year of activity

- Only up to 6 months of work in one company

- Can be divided and operated by multiple companies 

- You must report to the immigration office within 15 days of the start of the internship


3. Qualifications and required documents


- Domestic university graduates (D-2 → D-10-1 conversion)

• Those who have completed regular Korean degree programs (b.A. or higher) within the last three years

• Point system exemption, balance certificate not required, TOPIK not required

• Basic documents: Passport, alien registration card, graduation certificate, job search plan, housing contract


- Overseas Degree Holder (D-4 → D-10-1 Transition)

• A bachelor's degree or higher is required

• Points system needs to be met at least 60 points

• Additional documents such as balance certificate are required


4. visa extension required documents


- Evidence of job search (e-mail, interview details, etc.)

- Bank account balance certificate (over 6.9 million won)

- a job search plan

- Ease proof of balance if you hold TOPIK level 4 or higher


5. Regulations related to part-time jobs


D-10-1 visa holders can also work part-time, but they must get prior permission.

- TOPIK 4th class: Workable within 20 hours a week on weekdays

- TOPIK Level 5 or higher: Workable up to 30 hours a week on weekdays

- No restrictions on weekends and holidays
