1. Definition
- a confirmation procedure or international agreement for the legal recognition of documents in one country by another
- A form of simplified notarization agreement that simplifies notarization procedures between countries with at least five levels
2. necessity
- If the apostille is used, notarization of the document is completed within 6 weeks and can be used as a proven material in all countries contracted with the home country
- In particular, in the case of Korea, various apostilles such as criminal record reports are requested from the visa application stage (requested by most institutions such as government, schools, and companies)
- It is important to prepare in advance as it costs a lot for an administrative agency.
3. Application Process for Apostille
- Application to the embassy of the applicant country
- Simple Application on the Online Apostille Home Page
- Apply separately to the administrator before entering the country
4. When you need to prove your document by Korea is Authentic
- Visit https://www.apostille.go.kr/index.do
Even if you apply to a study abroad center or administrator, you can solve this problem, but it is expensive and not difficult, so it is recommended to obtain an apostille in advance in the preparation stage for entry.
In particular, non-agreement countries such as India must receive an apostille from the embassy in their home country, so please check whether the country of origin has an apostille agreement with Korea and whether it can be issued in Korea.
