This posting is about regional wide-area visas, especially E-7-1, E-7-2, and E-7-3 visas.
From today, regional visa issuance will begin. Let's find out more about the region and details.
1. Implementation of a Pilot Project for Regional Metropolitan Visas
- Enforcement for study visas (D-2) and specific activity visas (E-7-1, E-7-2, E-7-3)
- Planned to be implemented by 2026
- Study visa is implemented in Seoul, Busan, Incheon, Gwangju, Gangwon, Chungbuk, Chungnam, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, and Jeju
- Specific activity visas are implemented in Daegu, Gyeonggi, North Gyeongsang and South Gyeongsang provinces
- In the case of Ulsan and Gyeongnam, which submitted a business plan for the shipbuilding sector, it is decided whether to implement it after further deliberation
2. Details of E-7 visa pilot project (subject to tilt, benefits underlined)
- Daegu City: Daegu's top five new industries (robot, semiconductor, future mobility, healthcare, AI, big data, blockchain)
Relaxation of academic requirements (master → bachelor's degree, bachelor's → bachelor's degree).
Relaxation of career requirements (more than 5 years → more than 3 years).
Relaxation of screening standards for public employment protection related to new industries in Daegu.
- Gyeonggi-do: Industrial technical personnel (computer, electronic engineering technicians, etc.) and nursing care workers
Relaxation of academic requirements for those with excellent Korean proficiency among foreign universities (employment is allowed even for degrees not related to occupation).
Relaxation of national employment protection screening standards for nursing care workers.
- Gyeongsangbuk-do: Human resources in science and engineering and nursing care workers related to mining and manufacturing industries
Relaxation of qualification requirements for degree holders of overseas junior colleges designated by North Gyeongsang Province (Visa can be issued with a bachelor's degree and more than one year of experience).
Relaxation of screening standards for national employment protection for nursing care workers.
- Gyeongsangnam-do: Excellent talent of subsidiaries
Special case for the introduction of excellent manpower in overseas subsidiaries (Exemption from academic background requirements if you have more than two years of work experience in overseas subsidiaries)

- 조선업 분야 사업 계획을 제출한 울산과 경남의 경우, 추가 심의 후 시행 여부 결정

- 대구시: 대구 5대 신산업분야(로봇, 반도체, 미래모빌리티, 헬스케어, AI·빅데이터·블록체인)
학력 요건 완화(석사 → 학사, 학사 → 전문학사). 경력 요건 완화(5년 이상 → 3년 이상). 대구 신산업분야 관련 국민고용보호 심사기준 완화.
- 경기도: 산업기술인력(컴퓨터, 전자공학기술자 등) 및 요양보호사
외국 대학 학사 학위자 중, 한국어 능력 우수자에 대한 학력 요건 완화(직종과 연관성 없는 학위인 경우에도 취업 허용). 요양보호사 국민고용보호 심사기준 완화.
- 경상북도: 광업·제조업 관련 이공계 인재 및 요양보호사
경북 지정 해외 전문대학 학위소지자 자격 요건 완화(전문학사 학위 및 1년 이상 경력으로 비자 발급 가능). 요양보호사 국민고용보호 심사기준 완화.
- 경상남도: 자회사 우수인재
해외 자회사 우수인력 도입 특례(해외 자회사에서 2년 이상 근무 경력 보유시 학력 요건 면제)

- 신규 E-7 비자발급 공고 시 함께 공고될 예정
