Hello.

This is Ciel from Famigo who informs you about the law and visa common sense in Korea every day.

I think the advantage of living in Korea is that the medical insurance system is very well established.

Since treatment is possible at a low cost compared to the level, the number of people visiting Korea under the name of medical tourism is increasing every year.

With the recent revision of the National Health Insurance Act, foreigners staying in Korea have added health insurance dependents' eligibility requirements and excessive outpatient treatment prevention regulations.

Let's take a look together.

1. Strengthen the requirements for foreign dependents to stay in Korea

- Application within 90 days after completing resident registration, domestic residence report, and foreigner registration process

- Eligibility of dependents on days when the requirements are met if they are not met

- In the case of a newborn baby, the date of birth as the child of the subscriber of the workplace is recognized as the time of acquisition of the dependent qualification

- Eligibility shall be granted in other cases from the date of resident registration, etc.: Provided, That where a person has joined the workplace, the qualification shall be recognized from the date of joining the workplace

2. Restrictions on the number of outpatient treatments and new rules for out-of-pocket expenses

- If the number of outpatient visits exceeds 365 times, the person will pay 90% of the cost for the excess treatment

- Provided, That exceptions are recognized for children under the Child Welfare Act, pregnant women under the Mother and Child Health Act, persons with disabilities under the Welfare of Disabled Persons Act, persons with rare and intractable diseases, and persons with severe diseases

We will work harder for your stable life in Korea today as well.

Famigo
