This is also bad for Korea because there are too few people depending on the job type, so even though foreign employment is essential, there are many cases of manpower shortage due to lack of applicants.
Starting this year, the Ministry of Employment and Labor has come up with a pilot project to provide local education to foreign workers and to pay E-9 visas to those who have completed training.
Uzbekistan and Ulsan City decided to collaborate on this pilot project.
If Ulsan City conducts customized training for the shipbuilding industry in Uzbekistan, the main point is that the Ministry of Employment matches those who have completed training to small and medium-sized shipbuilders located in Ulsan City through the Employment Permit System (E-9).
The training course consists of five areas. The first training for each of the three occupations of scaffolding, painting, and grinding will be held from March 18, the second training for grinding occupations will be held from May 3rd, and the third training for five occupations will be held for three months from July 4th.
Ulsan City will support training costs and operations in general, training content will be organized directly reflecting the demand of companies in the region, and the Ministry of Employment will adopt a 3-Track system that benefits both foreign workers and domestic companies, first arranging training graduates to work at small and medium-sized shipbuilders in Ulsan.
Similar training will be conducted in many countries in the future, so those who wish to get an E-9 visa should pay attention to the administration's guidance.

이번 시범사업은 우즈베키스탄과 울산시가 협업해 진행하기로 했는데요.
울산시 주도로 우즈베키스탄 현지에서 조선업 맞춤형 훈련을 실시하면, 고용부가 고용허가제(E-9)를 통해 훈련 수료자를 울산시에 소재한 중소 조선업체에 매칭하는 것이 그 골자입니다.
훈련 과정은 5개 분야로 구성되고. 1차로 발판‧도장‧사상 3개 직종별 훈련이 3월18일부터, 2차로 사상 직종에 대해 5월3주부터, 3차로 5개 직종에 대한 훈련이 7월4주부터 각 3개월간 실시된다고 하는데요.
울산시가 훈련 비용 및 운영 전반을 지원하고, 훈련 내용은 지역 내 기업의 수요를 직접적으로 반영하여 편성되며, 고용부는 훈련 수료자가 울산 소재 중소 조선업체에서 근로할 수 있도록 우선 알선하는 3-Track 방식으로 외국인 근로자와 국내 기업 모두에게 이득이 되는 시스템을 채용한다고 합니다.
향후에도 유사한 내용의 교육이 여러 국가에서 진행 될 예정이라고 하니, E-9 비자 희망자 분들은 행정청의 안내를 주시하셔야겠습니다.
