Tomorrow is National Liberation Day. Korea became independent from Japan's forced rule and laid the foundation for a modern nation.
Because of this, many Koreans and foreigners in Korea are planning or traveling to tourist destinations such as Jeju Island.
Just as there is a saying to row when the water comes in, each tourist destination also provides many discounts and vouchers.
However, even if foreigners want to travel to Korea right now, I think there will be a lot of hassle, such as applying for a C-3 visa.
So today, I would like to talk about 'visa entry' where you can enter without a visa.
Unauthenticated entry literally refers to a method of entry in which you can stay for a certain period of time without a visa. Basically, conditions are stipulated through agreements or treaties between countries, so the efforts that individuals can make to enter the country without a visa are limited, and even if they try, individuals belonging to restricted countries cannot enter the country without a visa.
Unauthenticated entry is usually allowed to visit for 30 days, and after that, if you need to leave the country or stay for humanitarian reasons, you must report it to the immigration office. In some cases, each country allows a stay of more than 30 days. I'll attach the file, so you can check it out.
There are exceptions. This is Jeju Island. Article 197 of the Special Act on the Establishment of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Creation of Free International City stipulates visa-free entry. Except for countries where visa-free entry is not allowed, Jeju Island can stay for up to 30 days without requiring any documents. It is also the only way to freely enter and exit Korea without any agreements or other transactions between countries. However, you must enter the country at Jeju Airport and pass through other domestic airports such as Incheon International Airport and Gimhae International Airport. Please note that for-profit activities are prohibited within Jeju Island, and the restriction that people should not leave Jeju Island applies to everyone except for diplomatic and LP visa holders.
In order to enter Korea without a visa, a K-ETA is required. K-ETA is an electronic travel permit, which was created to help with fast immigration procedures at the airport. Let me inform you that it can be issued at https://www.k-eta.go.kr/portal/apply/index.do .

무사증입국이란, 말 그대로 비자 없이 일정 기간을 체류할 수 있는 입국방식을 말합니다. 기본적으로 국가 간 협약 혹은 조약 등을 통해 조건이 정해지기에 개인이 무사증입국을 하기 위해 할 수 있는 노력은 제한되고, 설령 노력한다 하더라도 제한 국가에 소속된 개인은 무사증 입국이 불가능합니다.
무사증입국은 통상적으로 30일 간 방문이 가능하며, 이후에는 즉시 출국 혹은 인도주의적인 사유로 체류가 필요한 경우 이를 출입국사무소에 신고해야 합니다. 국가별로 30일 이상의 체류를 허가하는 경우도 있는데요. 파일을 첨부해 드릴테니 확인하시면 될 것 같습니다.
예외도 있습니다. 제주도인데요. 제주특별자치도 설치 및 국제자유도시 조성을 위한 특별법 제197조(외국인의 입국·체류에 관한 특례)에서 무비자 입국 가능을 명시하고 있습니다. 제주도는 무비자 입국 불가 국가를 제외하면 어떠한 서류도 필요 없이 최장 30일간 체류가 가능합니다. 국가 간 협정이나 다른 거래 없이 한국에 자유로이 출입할 수 있는 유일한 방법이기도 합니다. 단, 출입국을 제주 공항에서 해야하며, 인천국제공항, 김해국제공항 등 국내 타 공항을 경유하는 것도 금지됩니다. 제주도 내에서는 영리 활동이 금지되며, 제주도를 벗어나서는 안된다는 제약은 외교 비자와 LP비자 소유자를 제외하고는 모두에게 적용되는 부분이니, 참고하시기 바랍니다.
