Are you looking for jobs to settle in Korea? If you have studied about visa, you will know there are E7 and F2-7 visa. However, there are 1 more types. F2-r visa! Starting from 2024, this visa is now generalized among companies and foreigners.

This is special visa, a visa for rural areas and people who are thinking of settling in Korea, both.

I will tell some important points for you.

I. Characteristic

You may have heard F2 visa. F2 visa is a residence visa.(I said about this more in F2-7 visa.) It is better than E7 visa becuase you can live in Korea even though you don't have a job and company that can sponser you. Also, you can work part time jobs and other jobs that is not related to your career freely. It sounds great, isn't it?

F2-r visa is similar but different from the F2 visa I explained above. The same thing is that you can work in anything no matter your major in Korea. However, you have to live in certain rural area you said you would live in. You cannot move to other place in that case. You have to live in the rural place, work or make a company that is near to the rural place you applied for. For the details, it depends on the region.

Oh, this visa is special because you can call your family and your family can work too. Of course there are some thing to do. But different other F2 visa, your family can work freely too.

F2 비자를 들어보셨을지도 모르겠어요. F2 비자는 거주 비자입니다.(F2비자에 관해서는 F2-7 비자에 대한 설명을 하면서 추가했습니다. ) E7 비자보다 나은데, 당신을 후원할 수 있는 일자리나 회사가 없어도 한국에서 생활할 수 있어서에요. 또한, 당신의 전공과 관련이 없는 아르바이트나 다른 직업을 자유롭게 할 수 있어요. 멋지죠?

II. Who can apply to this?

You have to follow 4 criteria in this.

First, you have to be in Korea legally. If you are in Korea with no visa, not possible.

Second, you have to get certain degree in Korea. The university have to be based in Korea. (Associate, bachlor, master, doctor degree possible)

Third, your salary has to be in certain amount or more in Korea. (In 2024, it is about 2,480,000won/month, this changes as the year pass by.) Or, you have to be in TOPIK level 3 or higher(it is ok to have KIIP level 3 or higher)

To say one thing, salary is optional, but Korean language skill level is required.

(From 2025, the level limit of Korean will get higher, asking you to have level 4 or higher.)

Lastly, no criminal history in you. If there is, it may not be allowed.

다음 4가지 기준을 따라야 합니다.

첫째로, 한국에 합법적으로 있어야 합니다. 비자 없이 한국에 있다면 불가능합니다.

둘째로, 한국의 대학에서 특정 학위를 취득해야 합니다. 대학은 한국에 위치해 있어야 합니다. (전문, 학사, 석사, 박사 학위가 가능합니다.)

셋째로, 한국에서 일정 금액 이상의 월급을 받아야 합니다. (2024년 기준으로 약 2,480,000원/월이며, 연도가 지남에 따라 변할 수 있습니다.) 또는 한국어능력시험(TOPIK) 3급 이상이어야 합니다. (KIIP 3급 이상이어도 괜찮습니다.)

한 가지 더 말씀드리자면, 월급은 선택 사항이지만 한국어 실력은 필수입니다. (2025년부터는 한국어 레벨 제한이 더 높아져 4급 이상을 요구합니다.)

마지막으로, 범죄 기록이 없어야 합니다. 만약 그렇지 않다면 허가를 받을 수 없을 수도 있습니다.

III. Can people from all type of visa possible?

Sadly, no. This one cannot apply to this if you are in D3, D4, E6-2, E8, E9, E10, G1 or H1 visa status.

유감스럽게도, D3, D4, E6-2, E8, E9, E10, G1 또는 H1 비자 상태인 경우에는 이 비자에 지원할 수 없습니다.

IV. Is there any other thing I have to remember when applying?

Yes. You need to know 3 things more. This is important because government will not allow you if you do not agree to this.

1. From the day of applience, you should live be working in a company or making a company of the rural area you are applying for sure. You have be promised to work more than a year on your contract.

2. You have to live/work in the rural area you apply to(or make the company based on that region) for at least 5 years.

3. People from your country(including you) cannot not apply more than 40% in the certain rural area.

If you live there 5 years or higher, you get a chance of getting F5 visa!

V. One last thing you should know.

This one is for people who is thinking of calling your family.

You can call your wife/husband and your daughter/son in this criteria....

1. You need to earn certain amount of salary if you are calling 4 or more people.(If it is under 4 people, no worries. If you are calling over the limit, you have to earn certain amount of money. It varies depending the time.)

2. Your husband/wife can only do simple jobs. No jobs that is expertised. Also, your spouse is recommended to become KIIP level 2 or higher.

3. If your children is under 18, they need to go to school in the rural area.
